Toy Story 5 Trailer Sets Woody and Buzz Versus a Tablet Computer
Exactly 30 years since the first Toy Story film debuted, launching the animation giant as a major animation studio and bringing audiences to beloved figures like the cowboy doll (the actor) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), who are now famous worldwide.
Coming in 2026, the fifth installment is scheduled for release. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 appeared this week, providing a brief look into the plot but leaving fans curious how it will resolve the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Frightens the Toys
The preview reveals Bonnie — who inherited the toy collection when he grew up — getting a brand new plaything, one that terrifies the familiar toy group. She acquires her first tablet computer, and she is excited about it.
Theoretically, the amphibian-inspired device will animate just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the toys seem to view it as a threat coming to replace them, which it likely will.
The Cowboy's Comeback: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
One thing the trailer avoids is what Woody is back with his companions in Bonnie's room. The finale of Toy Story 4 saw him embark on a fresh journey with Bo Peep (Annie Potts), traveling with a carnival and assisting giveaway items locate loving owners.
Surely, Pixar will explain the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Seeing him show up in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is a little strange, though. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have come back with him. And where is Duke Caboom (the star)?
Connections from the Last Installment
At the very least, some aspects are carrying over from the prior film. The last thing Woody did before setting off for his fresh path was pass his sheriff badge to the cowgirl (the voice actor), entrusting her in charge of the toy domain. In the teaser shows the badge attached to her shirt.
Hopefully she is remains the key figure among the toys.
